Support
Saatica is made by Can Burak Sofyalioglu. Some common problems are answered below. If they do not help, send an email.
This is one person’s inbox, so there is no promised response time. How the email is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
Requirements
Saatica needs macOS 14 or later.
Leave full screen
Press any key, click, scroll or move the mouse. The clock closes on every display. A tiny nudge of the mouse is ignored for the first moment, so that the click that started the clock does not close it again.
The idle saver does not start
Work through these in order:
- Saatica must be running. The idle saver is part of the app, not part of macOS. It keeps running after you close the window, and stops when you choose Quit Saatica from the menu bar item. Turn on Launch at Login in that menu if you want it to start with your Mac.
- The idle saver must be on. Open the Saatica menu bar item and look at Idle Screen Saver, or open Settings (⌘ ,) and look at Start Idle Screen Saver. If it says Disabled or Never, choose a time.
- Wait for the full time. The count restarts at every key press, click or mouse movement, in any app.
- To test the clock itself, choose Start Screen Saver Now (⇧ ⌘ S) from the File menu or the menu bar item.
Saatica does not appear in System Settings › Screen Saver. The App Store edition runs its screen saver from inside the app, not from System Settings.
Reset a face’s colours
Select the face in the gallery. In the panel on the right, open 3-Slot Color Customizer and choose Reset to Default Palette. That returns this face to its original background, primary and muted colours and leaves other faces alone. To reset every setting in the app, open Settings and choose Reset All Customizations to Factory Defaults.
Report a problem
Email support and include:
- The Saatica version (Saatica › About Saatica) and your macOS version (Apple menu › About This Mac).
- The name of the clock face, and whether it was running in the gallery, full screen, as the idle saver or as the desk clock.
- What you did, what you expected and what happened instead.
- How many displays you use, and what kind they are.
- A screenshot or screen recording, if it helps. Leave out anything private.
